TPO Thermoplastic Polyolefin Membrane

Thermoplastic Polyolefin TPO is one of the fastest growing release ply flat roofing materials on the market in California in accordance with California Title 24 Cool Roof Mandate.  TPO is fire and chemical resistant and contains ultraviolet UV inhibitors that reflect in this area 85% – 87% of UV rays.  TPO can be used for both mechanically fastened and fully adhered roof applications for projects that are new construction, re-roof, and or re-cover roof installations.  The Thermoplastic Polyolefin TPO membrane is reinforced with a polyester fabric and manufactured using an ultraviolet-resistant thermoplastic polyolefin formulation.

PVC Thermoplastic Membrane

PVC Thermoplastic roofing membranes are engineered to be highly flexible and manufactured using an ultraviolet resistant polyvinyl chloride PVC formulation.  PVC roofing systems meet California Title 24 Cool Roof Energy Standards and result in cleaner, quicker, and cost efficient installations able to withstand the elements of wind, rain, contaminants, and heat.  PVC can be used for both mechanically fastened and fully adhered roof applications for projects that are new construction, re-roof, and or recover roof installations.

KEE Ketone Ethylene Ester Membrane

When it comes to release-ply roofing membranes, it is hard to beat (KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane.  The use of (KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane has been gaining popularity in Southern California because of its fantastic waterproofing safeguard and lightweight design.

(KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane is a lightweight, release-ply vinyl that is extremely simple to install.  Most types of manufactured (KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane materials require the contractor to install the membrane using simple hot air bonding techniques.  This hot air bonding makes a seamless molecular bond between each sheet of membrane.

Because (KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane is a specially designed vinyl that requires no torching or adhesives to install, these roofing materials are simple to repair.  The membrane also ruins highly flexible with age, building it simple to uncover the substructure for repairs.  If a roof made of (KEE) ketone ethylene ester membrane ever needs to be repaired, the contractor simply has to place a patch over the repair area and use hot air to bond the patch to the rest of the membrane.

When repairing an EPDM membrane roof there is no need for heavy tools or equipment.  All the tools de rigueur for a simple repair are some common cleaning tools, a replacement patch, and some adhesive.  Simply clean the area that needs to be repaired to remove any dirt, apply the adhesive, and place the patch over the hurt area.

Of all of the types of roofing materials available, an EPDM membrane might have some of the best features.  Not only can the water runoff be collected for other uses, but an EPDM membrane can withstand all sorts of extreme weather.  High wind and hot temperatures are not a problem for an EPDM membrane roof.  Only temperatures of -45 degrees can cause potential problems, but these temperatures are nearly to no avail of in Southern California.  As far as safeguard from sun hurt and aging goes, there is no better product on the market.
